Color and interior design is a hot topic. Why else would more than 400 professional interior designers and members of the Chicago Floorcovering Association show up October 26 (the night Chicago won baseball’s World Series!) to hear what the experts had to say about the importance of color?

“The Magic Of Color” was co-hosted by FABULOUS FLOORS as a way to bring together the Midwest’s distributors and retailers of flooring fashion with those who influence how we see our world at home –– members of the American Society of Interior Designers and International Interior Designers Association.

Color Specialist Mary Hoffman of Benjamin Moore explained how color and texture will be driven by multicultural influences and by “skin,” whether it be our own, those in nature or man’s handiwork. Award-winning designer Leslie Shankman-Cohn described to the design and business community how color and color trends affect our purchasing decisions –– even our floors!

The event was underwritten by many FABULOUS FLOORS advertisers: MeadWestvaco (which also unveiled a new type of flooring fashion and asked for the pros’ opinions), Anderson Hardwood Flooring, Florida Tile, Blue Ridge Home, Natural Cork, Oshkosh Floor Designs, Robina Wood, Teragren and Artistic Finishes.
Proceeds from the event after expenses went to the Floor Covering Industry Foundation and also to 2005 hurricane disaster relief.
